Rev. Stephen Mma - Mandarin Pastor
Pastor.Mma@tcccc.org

I was born and raised in Taiwan. I learned about the salvation of Jesus Christ since I was in the grade school and I received Jesus Christ as my personal savior at age of 15. But I was not very serious about the relationship with the Lord until the junior year in college. During the last year of my college life, I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ and wanted to serve Jesus full time.

After finished my citizen's duty to my home country, I went on to teach biology in a junior high school in northern Taiwan. In 1974, I came to the United States to pursue my graduate degrees in California and Iowa, however, I realized that the degrees did not satisfy me afterward. I was wondering around to find out what is the purpose of my life during those years, not knowing that God has everything planned for me.

When I was still a graduate student, I met my wife, Paochen, a wonderful girl and we got married in 1981 and then God blessed us with two precious daughters, Stephanie and Phyllis. I have tried different jobs during those first couple years after I finished graduate school, finally, God led me to a two-year training program and prepared me to work in the eye clinic as a technician. In 1993, I figured that God did not forget my rededication and counted me as worthy to be a fulltime minister in the ministry, so God began to let me know that it was about time to put down my job and serve Him. By the Fall of 1993, I started my seminary training at Bethel Seminary, and finished it with a Master of Divinity degree in 1997.

After I graduated from seminary, I began to serve in the Twin City Chinese Christian Church as a full time interim minister, the church I have been a member for more than 23 years. In February 2001, I was ordained by T4C as a full time Pastor to serve Him and His church till now.

After working for 4 years at an environmental engineering consulting firm in the Washington DC metro area, the Lord called him to the ministry. He received his MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2001 and has served as English Pastor of the Twin City Chinese Christian Church since then. He was ordained in 2003. He is happily married to Jeanne and tries to keep up with three active sons, Ethan (1999), Owen (2002) and Austin (2004). He has interests in ice hockey, biking, Taylor guitars and eating.

Pastor Nathan Opsata - Youth Pastor
Pastor.Opsata@tcccc.org

Minister Nate is the product of a small town in southwest Minnesota. He often was found playing sports, driving tractor on his grandparent’s farm, or hanging out with friends from his youth group at the First Baptist Church of Luverne. Even while in high school, Nathan felt the calling to enter full-time ministry and so he chose to attend Bethel College in St. Paul to study the Bible and sociology. For a year during his time at Bethel, Nathan took the opportunity to go to China to teach English where he learned to love Chinese kids and hate tofu. After finishing his degree at Bethel, Nathan felt he needed more training before entering the ministry full-time and so he attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts for his Master of Divinity. While there he served as youth director for two years at Austin Square Baptist Church in Lynn, Mass. He had a lot of fun teaching the Bible and spending time with the teens doing things like camping, and playing man-hunt.

After seminary, Nathan learned of the opportunity to serve as youth minister here at the Twin City Chinese Christian Church. Nathan took the job with great excitement in the summer of 2003. He is always looking for opportunities to go to Dairy Queen with the teens or to play tennis, basketball, or disc golf with them, or just to have the teens over to his place to hang out. “Friday nights are the highlight of my week,” he says. “I love our times at youth group – the joyful spirit of worship that the teens bring us into, the servant hearts of the youth staff, the eager ears to listen to the Word of God.”

Nathan is married and has one daughter. They live in New Brighton and are always working on fixing up their house.

Minister Faith Wong - Minister of Christian Education
Minister.Wong@tcccc.org

Faith was born and raised in Hong Kong, and came to know the Lord during her Junior High years at the time of a Billy Graham Crusade in Hong Kong. Sensing the convicting and convincing power of the Holy Spirit after hearing of these meetings she invited Christ into her life at home.

During the last year of High School, Faith committed herself to full-time ministry and applied to Bethel College and Seminary, where she was accepted in 1971. In June 1977 she graduated with a Masters Degree in Christian Education. By December of the same year, Faith began serving the congregation of the Twin City Chinese Christian Church under Pastor Joseph Wong. Her ministry focused specially on children, young people and their families.

T4C has always been her church since her college days. She had the privilege of witnessing God’s goodness in the early development of the church. Her desire all along has been to serve people and to see lives changed by the power of Christ. She enjoys the full range of pastoral & educational responsibilities to the teaching of 4 & 5-year-olds in the classrooms.

Faith treasures the trust and the response she receives from the congregation, and seeks always to initiate new ministry to meet their needs effectively. Through the years many doors and opportunities have opened at T4C for her to fulfill the strong call of God on her life. She is married to John Thornberg, who fully supports and partners with her in her ministry.
